How do you convert Markdown to PDF?
Paste your Markdown or open an .md file, keep PDF selected, check the live preview and click Download PDF. The file is a real text PDF, not a screenshot. Headings, lists, tables, code blocks and clickable links all carry over, on Letter or A4 pages.
- Add your MarkdownPaste it, open an .md file, or drop the file onto the tool.
- Check the previewThe preview updates as you type, so you can fix a heading or list before you export.
- Name it and downloadChoose PDF, Word or text, set the file name and page size, then download. Ctrl or Cmd + S works too.
How do you save a ChatGPT answer as a Word or PDF file?
Click the copy button under the ChatGPT or Claude answer, paste it into the converter and download. Chat assistants write in Markdown, so the copied text keeps its headings, bold text, numbered steps and tables. The converter turns those into real document formatting instead of stray # and * symbols.
It works the same for Notion exports, GitHub README files and notes from Obsidian. To paste the result straight into Google Docs or an email, use Copy formatted text instead of downloading.
Should you convert Markdown to PDF, Word or plain text?
Choose PDF when people only need to read or print the document, Word when someone will edit or comment on it, and text when you only need the words. Go the other way, to Markdown, when the content is headed for a website, a repository or a notes app.
Real Word heading styles, numbered and bulleted lists, and tables you can edit. Opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages.
Removes the # and * symbols but keeps list markers, link addresses and spacing so it still reads well.
Turns a document back into clean Markdown. Word files convert most accurately because they store real headings.
How do you convert a PDF to Markdown?
Switch to “Word, PDF, text → Markdown” and drop in the PDF. The converter reads the text on each page, joins wrapped lines back into paragraphs and uses font size to mark headings. Page numbers are left out. Check the headings and the reading order before you download the .md file.
A PDF stores where each word sits on the page, not what it means, so multi-column layouts and tables need a closer look. A scanned PDF has no text to read. Run OCR on it first, then convert the searchable copy.
What should you check after converting a document?
Check the headings and reading order first, then the lists, tables, links and code. The converter shows what it found in your Markdown, such as 3 headings, 1 table and 2 links, so you know what to look for in the downloaded file.
Word headings and lists convert exactly. In a PDF, a heading is a guess based on font size, so confirm each one.
Markdown tables become real tables in PDF and Word. Images from a Word or PDF file become [Image] notes, so add them back by hand.
Links stay clickable in PDF and Word. Code blocks keep their line breaks and indentation in a monospaced font.
