How do you resize an image for social media?

Add your image, tap the part that must stay in view, choose the platforms you post to, and download. You get one correctly sized file per platform, so the same picture fits a YouTube thumbnail, an Instagram post and a LinkedIn update without cropping out the important part.

Can you resize an image without cropping it?

Yes. Choose a “Fit” option and your whole image stays in the frame, with the leftover space filled by a blurred copy of the picture or a plain colour. “Crop to fill” uses the whole frame instead, and trims whatever doesn't fit around your focus point.

What image sizes do YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn use?

The sizes that work best right now: Instagram posts at 1080 × 1350 (portrait) or 1080 × 1080 (square), stories and reels at 1080 × 1920, LinkedIn posts at 1200 × 1200, link previews at 1200 × 627, and YouTube thumbnails at 3840 × 2160. Every size this tool exports is below.

Quality

Does resizing an image reduce its quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger can't add detail that isn't there, so it looks soft. Start from your largest original, and the tool tells you when a size would need enlarging.

The file format matters too. Pick the one that suits what's in the picture:

JPG

Photos. Small files, accepted everywhere, including YouTube thumbnails.

PNG

Screenshots, text and logos. Lossless and crisp, but larger files.

WebP

Websites. Smaller than JPG at similar quality, though not every platform accepts it.

Will my image lose quality?
Scaling down keeps images sharp. Scaling a small image up to a larger size can look soft, so start from the biggest version you have. JPG and WebP are compressed at high quality; PNG is lossless.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.
How do I download every size at once?
Click “Download all”. You'll get a ZIP file with one image per size, named by platform and dimensions.
Can I add a size that isn't listed?
Yes. Use the Custom option to enter any width and height in pixels, for an email header, a slide or a website banner.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Add a photo from your camera roll, tap your subject and download. On iPhone, ZIP files open in the Files app.
